Ecosystem

The ecosystem is a 10 km x 10 km section of grasslands that is totally closed off. There are only three organisms in this ecosystem: grass, mice, and foxes. Well, actually this is not quite true. There are also some biology students wandering around the ecosystem getting you the data so you can do your job well.

You will role-play a biologist who is aspiring to be this ecosystem's wildlife preserve manager. To get this job, you will need to make good predictions of how the ecosystem populations change with time. When you feel you have the skills to make good predictions, you can prove these skills in the Food Chain Quest.

This ecosystem has a constant climate. There are no seasons. Sun, temperature, and water are always favorable for grass, mice, and foxes. Grass seeds can germinate at any time. Both mouse pups and fox kits can be born at any time.
