Throwing Out Bad Governors

One thing western democracy does really well is removing governing politicians when they have become “stale” in their relationship with their electorate. I imagine some readers will want a similar mechanism in Consensus.

As mentioned earlier, Consensus is going to create a culture of consultation. If it is successful, there should be no need to throw a majority of the low ring or high ring to bring in a new and positive direction.

Rather the annual elections in the low and high rings will bring in new people on a continual basis. There will always be fresh ideas and fresh enthusiasm and fresh perspectives coming into Consensus with each election. And there will be enough of the “old guard” around to explain how and why Consensus did things in the past.

This system of governance provides a great combination of necessary rejuvenation and retaining institutional knowledge, wisdom, and experience.
